Swedish Medical Center RN - Hematology Oncology in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Registered Nurse (1.0, Days) to work for Hematology Oncology at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.
This Registered Nurse is responsible for planning and providing comprehensive outpatient care to patients and their families being cared for by the Medical Oncology physicians at the Cancer Institute. The nurse’s understanding of the pathophysiology of cancer as well as the major treatment modalities and investigational protocols enables him/her to participate fully in all phases of care for the patient and their support system.
In this position you will:
Be responsible for triage, symptom management, patient/family education, and end-of-life care
Identify special needs of patients and make referrals to other healthcare professionals to facilitate holistic care of each patient
Responsible for providing nursing care adapted to individual patient needs based on the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
Required qualifications for this position include:
All Registered Nurses without a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing must obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or higher within 6 years of hire
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington
Current BLS certification
12 months Oncology Nursing experience
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Oncology Certified Nurse through the State of Washington
Successful completion of the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Course
Experience working as an RN in an outpatient oncology setting
Experience working with hematological malignancy and bone marrow transplant preferred
