Swedish Medical Center Perioperative Care Associate III - Orthopedic Surgery in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Perioperative Care Associate III (1.0 FTE, Evenings) to work in Orthopedic Surgery at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.
This position will be working 3pm - 11pm M-F with alternating call on weekends.
The Perioperative Care Associate III ( PCA III), under direction, assists the surgical staff with patient care including transportation, supplies, equipment, instruments, and care of the OR environment. The PCA III works under guidance of the Surgical Technologist, Facilitator and RN and the direction of the Surgical Support Supervisor/Nurse Manager. The PCA III functions as a collaborative and participative member of an interdisciplinary team, consistent with the mission, vision and values of the Surgical Services department and Swedish Medical Center.
In this position you will:
Perform room turnover, maintain cleanliness of the surgical area, surgical equipment and patient transportation devices as indicated by department procedure.
Assist the surgical team with preparation of the surgical suite including opening of sterile items to the surgical field.
Assemble case carts to include printing of Procedure Lists, assembling supplies, instruments, equipment, and other necessary items to complete the case cart and delivers it to the appropriate surgical location.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school education or GED
One year experience performing duties as a Perioperative Care Associate II or equivalent experience in a healthcare environment
Basic computer skills
Knowledge of sterilization techniques and demonstrated ability to safely operate area specific equipment, including, but not limited to: sterilizers, steris machines and sonic cleaners
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
