Clinical Informaticist, Mid

Key Role:

Apply knowledge of principles of computer and information science to the advancement of life sciences research, health professions education, public health, and care, including informatics, clinical informatics, and public health informatics. Leverage expertise to advise on developing informatics strategy, technical and business requirements, semantics and harmonization, scientific computing, electronic epidemiology, computational science, and specific data type expertise. Provide work leadership for junior employees.

Basic Qualifications:

-4+ years of experience with clinical informatics

-Ability to assess information and knowledge-based needs of healthcare professionals and patients

-Ability to characterize, evaluate, and refine clinical processes

-Ability to develop, implement, and refine clinical decision support systems

-Ability to lead or participates in the procurement, customization, development, implementation, management, evaluation, and continuous improvement of clinical information systems, including EHRs and order-entry systems

-Ability to work independently

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with supporting Veterans Affairs Electronic Information Systems

-Public Trust clearance preferred

-RN, MD, or a Nursing Assistant degree is preferred
