About the Rainier Clinic: Pioneer Counseling - Rainier Clinic in Seattle supports clients in their recovery from mental health and substance use disorder issues. POSITION SUMMARY Serving as a member of Rainier Clinic multidisciplinary team, the ARNP/Psychiatric Nurse, has overall clinical responsibility for monitoring client treatment and staff delivery of clinical services. The psychiatric prescriber provides psychiatric and medical assessment and treatment; clinical supervision, education and training of the team; and development; maintenance, and supervision of medication and psychiatric treatment policies and procedures. POSITION DUTIES & TASKS Provides psychiatric care and treatment (60%) Conducts assessment/diagnostic interviews as requested by the treatment team. Prescribes medication when indicated and regularly reviews individual functioning to ensure proper administration, continuation or discontinuation of prescribed medication. These medications will include the induction and ongoing monitoring of Suboxone (Buprenorphine). Symptom monitoring and management; adjusts prescriptions as necessary and advisable. In consultation with the Director and the Interdisciplinary Team, determines resident's suitability for continued treatment based upon their presenting medical condition and DBHR Access to Care Standards. Recommends transfer to an acute care facility when appropriate and provides assistance as feasible. Participates with the Director and other staff in designing, coordinating, writing, approving, and reviewing all medical polices and practices. Documents assessments, medication reviews and prescriptions utilizing DSM5 and/or ICD10 diagnostic nomenclature. The ARNP will maintain a Psychiatric Medication Chart, make copies of all prescriptions, and obtain all necessary medication consent signatures from each client. May provide psychiatric care to remote Pioneer locations via telemed services. Staff consult, training, support, and collaboration (35%) Attends Interdisciplinary Treatment Team meetings as scheduled and meets regularly with Director. Performs other duties as required (5%) WORKING CONDITIONS Work Setting, including hazards: Work is performed primarily indoors in an office environment. Exposure to hazards is limited to those commonly found in office environments. Schedule (i.e. hours and days): Standard business hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M., but the incumbent may be expected to adjust the work schedule to meet business needs. Travel Requirements: Ability and willingness to travel routinely to community settings to facilitate engagement with patient populations or attend trainings, meetings, or other designated community events. Tools & Equipment: Duties require the use of standard office furniture and equipment (er, desk, filing cabinet, computer, printer, telephone, fax machine, copy machine, etc). Customer Interactions: Duties require professional engagement related to contractor oversight, relationship building, or other professional capacity with holders of PHS contracts, relevant stakeholders, or other interested parties. QUALIFICATIONS Required Qualifications Experienced RN. Licensed in the State of Washington. Must be licensed as a psychiatric nurse (Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner) with more than five years of experience providing psychiatric services, certification to prescribe Suboxone.
