Swedish Medical Center Maintenance Engineer II - Facility Management in Edmonds, Washington
Where you work matters! Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Maintenance Engineer II for a full-time, day shift opening to work for Facility Management at Swedish Edmonds in Edmonds, WA.
The Maintenance Engineer II is responsible for performing a variety of skilled work of moderate difficulty related to the maintenance and repair of building structures and associated electrical, mechanical and environmental equipment and systems
In this position you will:
Inspect, adjust and repair a variety of equipment, fixtures and systems in response to emergency calls, work orders or preventive maintenance schedules to ensure the proper operation and maintenance of assigned areas
Perform plumbing repairs such as unplugging toilets, cleaning drains, installing, repairing or replacing faucets and pipes to maintain functioning systems
Perform skilled carpentry duties including framing, drywall, taping, repairing and prefabricating furniture, building cabinets, installing shelves and laminating to provide hospital with cost effective and useful buildings and furniture
Perform skilled painting and refinishing of walls, floors, ceilings, equipment and other surfaces to provide a clean and well-maintained appearance
Maintain hospital-owned vehicles by checking and maintaining appropriate fluid levels, checking and repairing belts, fans, pumps and other electrical/mechanical systems to ensure vehicles run properly and are reliable
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school education or GED. Must have valid licenses as required to perform assigned tasks, including a valid driver’s license.
Must have at least two years of experience in general equipment maintenance.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Must be in good physical condition to perform many physically demanding tasks including: climbing ladders, working in high places, working in tight/confined places, climbing several flights of stairs, reaching overhead and below the floor to work on equipment and lifting 80 lbs. to the waist and 40 lbs. overhead
